Automatic Weather Observation System
The AWOS system is developed to measure, gather, process and display the MET parameters for the airport meteorological office, AT Tower and airport operation staff.
The system is a fully configurable system integrating the latest technologies in terms of software and hardware design. It helps pilots and aviation personnel make critical decisions by providing continuous, real -time reports on airport weather conditions.
Features
- Compliant with ICAO standards and recommendations as well as WMO regulations.
- Basic Set of Parameters Observed and Reported: Wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, relative humidity, cloud height, visibility, and runway visual range. Additionally, the system can integrate runway status detection sensors and lightning detection sensors as optional features.
- Supports the Following ICAO and WMO Defined Reports:
- METAR and SPECI
- MET REPORT and SPECIAL
- TAF
